There is so much wisdom and so many insights in this book. It truly is a must read for anyone seeking a higher purpose and calling in your life. I appreciate the personal life experiences the author is willing to share on his journey of faith that we all can relate to on some level. Not having been raised with a Christian (earthly) father, I felt I was gaining insights and council from a father on all of the lessons I had to personally learn the hard way in life. But I eventually got there and this book beautifully can open your heart to bring you there as well. Well done Mr. Gund and thank you for your vulnerability, wisdom and insights. Excellent. Very thoughtfully written and easy to read. The Beginning of Wisdom provided me with new insight and interpretation of the bible. Ed shared personal stories which resonated with me. He is helping me on my spiritual journey. Of note, I appreciate his perspectives and I have shared some specifics with my son heading off to college.
I highly recommend.
Mr. Gund's book "The Beginning of Wisdom" is a very thoughtful narrative that combines some seemingly unrelated topics business, pop culture, reading the bible, sex, and surviving life's most challenging moments. Oh there is something in there for everyone, but not everyone is going to agree with all of Mr. Gund's idea/recommendations. While written in a very dliberate fashion and on a mountain of faith, I don't think he intended for the readers to always agree with him. As I read the pages, I felt like I was having a good conversation with an old friend who is inspired/challenged by his life journey and its' mysteries. He likes using the Bible as a resource/tool for his journey and attempts to explain why in a such a respectful way that you don't feel judged if you disagree. I enjoyed reading and thinking about every sentence whether I agreed, disagreed, or simply hadn't ever considered his perspective before. I'd recommend this small book to any Book Club that is willing to roll up their sleeves and discuss some of the largest conflicts/challenges that have been sustained in the human's story for the past 4K years. This book is for readers who want to be challenged and think. 5 star. Two thumbs up. 9.8 out of 10.
